
Miss July
Chanel Howell is an all American girl next door from Queens, New York. Chanel married her high school sweetheart at the age of 18. For nearly a decade she has managed a household of 7 while trying to attain her dreams of stardom. In 2007, Chanel entered in the Mrs. Florida America Pageant. This was her first experience in the Pageant world. For 2008-2009 She currently holds the tile of Mrs. Florida Orlando US, in the Mrs. Florida US pageant. With her new found knowledge, she now had a new platform to be a helping hand in the community. Chanel is a strong supporter of the American Heart Association, as heart disease is the number 1 threat to American women. She also assists her mother managing a nonprofit rehabilitation center called Restoration House for women that want life after drug abuse. Semiannually she facilitates a charity event with her husband to help seniors attain no income housing. One of her dreams is to establish a big sister foundation for inner city girls, encouraging the youth from adolescence to adulthood. Other than charity events, Chanel is also an aspiring model and actress. Chanel has modeled for clothing lines such as St John and Furla. She has also done runway modeling for local clients. For a normal all American girl with big dreams, the Pageant experience has strengthen her as a community leader and a businesswoman.
Young Miss July
Natalie Claverie resides with her family in Dexter Maine. She is an energetic 5 years old who will be starting kindergarten this fall. Natalie enjoys helping others. Natalie volunteers at the local humane society. She looks forward to her visits with the "lonely" cats and dogs. Natalie also participates in the Autism Society of Maine's annual walk a thon.
Natalie takes tap and ballet class. She loves being on stage. Natalie also attends weekly cheerleading classes. In her free time she has fun playing with her friends and her little brother Logan. She enjoys swimming in her pool, riding her bike, playing outside and going for walks. Natalie loves animals. When she grows up she wants to be a veterinarian and own three horses.
Natalie looks forward to pageants. Over the last two years, Natalie has received many local, state and national titles. She currently holds the NES State of Maine Grand Ambassador, the 2007 NES National Most Beautiful and the 2008 America's Sweetheart National Novice Supreme and Cover Model titles.
Natalie always gives 110% in anything she does. If at first she does not succeed she will try again and again until she does. No matter what the future holds for her, it will be big!
Miss June
Shannon Smadella is a professional Model/Actress from Saskatoon, SK, Canada. She has been in the industry for 8 years and has recently been accepted to attend New York Film Academy's "Acting for Film" class for the month of July in Los Angeles at Universal Studios. She was a recent contestant in the Miss Universe Canada 2008 Pageant and has been selected as Miss Saskatchwan Galaxy for the Miss Canada Galaxy Pageant in August, 2008. She will also be competing in Miss Earth Canada in August in Montreal, QC. Besides modeling, Shannon's background is in Science and Business. Besides being an Entrepreneur she works in sales with a marketing and broadcast company profiling the world's most lucrative and powerful industries to discerning business audiences and consumers worldwide. She previously ran her own business (marketing firm) for seven years and has extensive experience in advertising and media sales. She teaches yoga and believes that a well-balanced lifestyle is one of the keys to success. She is very involved in the community and supports many local, national and international charities and non-profit organizations. Her latest cause is volunteering for The Princess Shop, a Saskatoon non-profit organization who loans grad gowns and accessories to female grads who otherwise couldn't afford their own. She is donating her pageant gowns to the cause and is writing a book to encourage young women to succeed - a portion of the proceeds will go to The Princess Shop. "My ultimate goal remains to help people on a greater level, so being Miss Saskatchewan and running in national pageants in a way, I feel, helps me to help people on a greater level."
Young Miss June
Alyssa-Marie Muna is a little girl with big dreams, and she's well on her way to fulfilling them. She has held the titles of NAM 2007 California Princess, 2007 All-American Tiny Miss California, 2008 NAM National Cover Girl, and 2008 Miss & Mister Sunshine California Grand Supreme. Aside from pageants, her hobbies include modeling, playing dress-up, drawing and ballet. At only 6 years old, she is an active member of the community by volunteering at the local food bank and senior community center; participating in events that are personally meaningful to her and her family such as the Walk for Food Allergy Awareness and Walk Now for Autism Awareness; and supporting local measures that hope to improve the public school system; and was a volunteer at the San Francisco Zoo's celebration in honor of the Grizzly Gulch opening. She is thankful for the opportunities that modeling and pageantry has given her, building her character to become a kind and charismatic young girl.
Miss Photogenic June
Jordan Fowler, from Redwood Shores California, attends Castilleja School in Palo Alto and was recently crowned Miss California Junior National Teenager 2008 as well as being awarded Supermodel with Style in Sacramento. Since being crowned, her professional career as an actress, model and spokes model have blossomed. Jordan just finished filming several public service announcements and a documentary, is currently acting in an independent feature film, and was recently cast in a lead role for an upcoming television pilot. Additionally, she has been enjoying her photo shoots for print publication, product marketing and website design. Also, Jordan recently had the opportunity to serve as a spokes model, emcee and choreographer at a pageant in Los Angeles. Jordan credits pageantry for giving her the confidence to pursue her dreams as well as introducing her to the importance of community service for which she recently received a national award for her continued commitment to her community, her country and her world. Look for Jordan in Four Christmases to be released this holiday season.
Miss May
Savannah Sowell is a 21 year old broadcasting major attending Stephen F. Austin State University. Oringinally from San Augustine, Texas, Savannah has been involved in the pageant scene for twelve years, not only as a contestant, but as a judge, coach, and director. A few of her titles include Miss Southeast Texas, Miss Bryan USA, Miss East Texas USA, as well as recently recieving first runner up at the Miss Texas International Pageant. Along with her mom, Savannah founded Big Dream Pageant Productions to help younger girls become involved in pageants. Savannah is currently coaching contestants for the National American Miss Pageant to be held this June. Savannah feels that pageants are an amazing learning experience unlike any other. The road to success is often filled with many bumps along the way, however the experience you get is well worth the journey!
Miss April
Kayla Casciano is no stranger to the stage. As a performer since the age of six she has received accolades and awards in everything from vocal performance to dance, modeling, acting, speech, academics and community service. She has performed in 15 musical and dance theatre productions and has spent her spare time volunteering with many local organizations. Some of her past awards and achievements include: IMTA-Los Angeles- 6 Awards including top 10 -Young Miss Actress of the Year. 2004 NAM Miss MN PreTeen, 2006 ANTSO Miss MN Junior National Teenager, 2006 National Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts, 2006 Highlighted on Fox 47 TV as Artist of the Month, 2007 Recognition by the International Leadership Network as a Young Achiever.
Community Recognition: Selected 2 years as a MN Vikings Community Service Student All Star, 2006 Red Cross Hero.
School Recognition and Involvement: A Honor Roll student, 2007 NAM Academic Achievement winner, selected as student of the quarter twice, peer mentor, tutor for HS newcomers, trained conflict mediator, student council officer 3 years, served on the faculty site team as a student representative, advisory council, teacher's assistant and WCTV Student Daily News Reporter.
Activities: Kayla is active in the High School fall performance dance team and the winter varsity competitive dance team. She is a member of the readers club. She also is active in competitive ballroom dance.
She is currently represented by several midwest model and talent agencies. Following high school graduation, Kayla plans to obtain a degree in broadcast journalism and musical theatre.
Miss March
Amber Johnson is the reigning Miss National Teenager 2008. The America's National Teenager Scholarship Organization is a pageant for the all around girl and Amber is honored to hold a title that recognizes her for her community service and academics as well as poise and elegance. Formerly the Miss Georgia National Teenager 2007, Amber has been involved in many events in her home state as well as around the country. She has been given opportunities to travel to Hollywood, New York City, Nashville, Orlando, and San Francisco and will continue to travel many other places before her year com es to an end. Media appearances include newspapers in several states, Good Morning America, 11 Alive, Pageantry Magazine, and she will be on the cover of an upcoming issue of Supermodels Unlimited Magazine. She has been involved with numerous organizations including the Boys and Girls Club, Relay for Life, March of Dimes, the Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Children's Miracle Network, and many others. In her spare time she enjoys scrap booking, wakeboarding, text messaging, watching football, and spending time with her Chihuahua Jasper.
